The Chairman House Committee on Human Right and Democratic governance, Honourable Adebayo Gabriel who represents Ibadan North 2 Constituency in the Oyo State House of Assembly has disclosed that plans to carry out massive empowerment scheme for members of his constituency.
According to him, the empowerment scheme is to improve their living standard and reward them with dividend of democracy.
Hon. Babajide said the plan is in order to fulfil the promises he made to members of his constituency during his campaign.
Speaking on his achievements with Western Post in his office in Ibadan, the lawmaker said less than two years in office, he has done a lot to touch the lives of the people.
He said he is planning a massive project that would cut across the area, such that it will cushion the hardship facing them and bring relief to them.
According to him, “In less than two years I have touched the lives of many people in my constituency through quality representation, provision of amenities, and quality schemes
“I have done cash empowerment for members of my constituency, and about eight boreholes, drainages and many others and still going on. Though some of them have been commissioned.
“I have done a bridge linking the area and the University of Ibadan (UI) roads, and I still have plans to do more for them. All of these are in line with my electioneering campaign promises.”
The legislator whose quality representation and contributions in his constituency and Assembly has earned him many outstanding awards, said apart from the water projects and empowerment schemes for youths, students and the aged, he has distributed generating set to mosques, procured books and gave scholarship to students.
“I have distributed grinding machines, freezers and as well given scholarship to students in my constituency.
“I am working on massive empowerment projects that will cut across the area, such that will have positive impacts on the people.
“This is in line with my electioneering campaign promises, he said.”
Hon Babajide while calling on the people of the state to cooperate with the Engr. Seyi Makinde administration said he would continue to work hard to improve and justify the mandate giving to him by the people of his constituency.
