All Progressive Congress (APC) lawmaker representing Oyo East and West Constituency in the State House of Assembly, Honourable Isiaka Kazeem (Arole) has cautioned top echelon of the party over leadership tussle and who becomes a leader of the party in the state.
Speaking with Western Post in Ibadan on the development, Hon. Kazeem said those who have interest in the position needed to consider the integrity of the party and not to allow personal interest undermine APC.
“There is nothing wrong for anyone to show interest in a vacant office, but those contesting the office need to consider the integrity of the party in order not to undermine it during the struggle.
According to him, “Late former governor Abiola Ajimobi was a leader of the APC in the state before his demise. So, I urge the people to honour the late governor by ensuring that peace reigns supreme in the party.
The legislator also debunked the rumour making its rounds that the ruling party was making frantic effort to woo him into the PDP fold.
He said, “I am a progressive to the core, I am not sure that story exists, and if it does, it is a mere rumour which cannot stand any day. Nothing can bring me into the PDP, he added.”
Speaking on his palliatives for members of his constituency, Hon. Kazeem said, despite the paucity of fund, he had provided relief packages including food items to his people.
“At the initial stage, we provided kits for our primary school pupils in Oyo East and West against the COVID-19 pandemic when they resumed back to school.
“Also, during festive periods like Ramadan, Ileya, Christmas and others, I do give the people cash, gifts, ram and other items to support them. And this has been going on steadily since I was elected to represent the constituency in the Assembly.
Hon. Kazeem, who is the chairman House Committee on Culture and Tourism urged the people to cooperate with his administration and leadership of the party in order to consolidate the gains of democracy in the constituency.
