The Agro Ranger Team of Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC) Oyo State Command has dislodged unknown herders at Aroro Kole along Igbo Oloyin in Akinyele Local Government area of Oyo State.
The development followed a distress call from the community to the State Commander of the Agro Ranger.
This was coming about a year after the anti-grazing law was put in place by the Oyo State House of Assembly occasioned by cases of herders and farmers clash which spread across the state.
Speaking after the arrest, the State Commandant of NSCDC CC ISKILU AKINSANYA said one of the herders BABANGIDA MUSA male, 21 years was arrested after during a serious Search for the herders at the location where over 400 Cows were seen grazing around the Community.
According to him, during the course of the investigation, it was gathered that the Leader of the Herders, one YINUSA Male, 28 years and SAIDU Male 27years who are based in Ogbomoso made it known that the Cows were just passing through Oyo Town to link Ogbomoso, adding that Items recovered from the suspect included-cutlass, Knife, rope and Bag.
While reacting at the development at Aroro Kole Community of Igbo-Oloyin, the Chairman of the area Mr. Kole Tijani Commended the quick intervention of NSCDC Agro Ranger team in the area and used the medium to appeal to the State Governor Engr Seyi Makinde to equip the state NSCDC better owing to its quick response to security matters at the Grassroot.
The State Commandant of Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps CC AKINSANYA while assuring the people of Aroro Kole of safety warned hoodlum causing Mayhem in state to desist from such destructive act as NSCDC and other sister agencies will deal with anyone fomenting trouble in the State.
He, however, urged parents and guardians to warn their children against criminal act and toe the line of Peace and Support the effort of the State Governor to bring Safety to the general public.
