Oyo Security Trust Fund Donates 10 Patrol Vans, Other Equipment to Joint Security Task Force

As part of efforts of the Oyo State Government towards  sustaining the existing peace and security of lives and property of it’s citizens, the State Joint Security Task Force code named “Operation Burst” has been presented with 10 brand new Mitsubishi Patrol vans and other equipment to enhance its operations
Similarly, several fire equipment were donated to the State Fire Service at the occasion which took place at the headquarters of the Oyo State Security Trust Fund, Jericho, Ibadan on Tuesday
Other equipment donated to the Joint Task Force are; bullet proof vests, fire ballistic helmets, anti riot tempered plastic shield and pepper spray .while the State fire service got Delivery hose of various sizes, hand control branch, drums of chemicals, marking tape,  fire protective clothings, cock helmets and rubber boots of various sizes.
In his speech, Chairman, Oyo State Security Trust Fund (OYSSTF), Chief Adebayo Adelabu maintained that the  gesture was part of the regular interventions by the Trust Fund to strengthen the security situation in the state.
Adelabu, a former Deputy governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) and governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), in the State in the recent general elections, said the Governor Abiola Ajimobi administration will be recognized fie its stride in maintaining peace and security in the state.
“I am saying it unequivocally, that it will hi down in history that the government of Senator Abiola Ajimobi is that government that has taken more seriously, the issue of security in Oyo State.
“In the last eight years, ,since 2011, the State has witnessed a lot of peace and tranquillity unlike what we uses to have before the government came. This is because the government and its agencies have been walking the talk.
“They are not paying lip service to issues of security, they have devoted  quite a reasonable amount of resources to endue that all the apparatus that will make security a reality in this  State,” he stated.
Adelabu who charged  the incoming administration of Engineer Seyi Makinde to not only sustain the the level of security sustained by the incumbent administration , said his expectations is that it will surpass it.
“Like they  say, government is a continuum, very soon , we will hand over to a new government, I believe that anything the government will inherit , I will expect that it will not only sustain the level of security  Governor Abiola Ajimobi had been able to sustain, but also surpass it and make available all apparatus and security  personnel to achieve this,” he said.
He urged security agencies to extend the hand of cooperation given to the Abiola Ajimobi administration to the incoming government and ensure that the existing peace in the state is not compromised just as he admonished them to use the vehicles for the intended purposes and as well ensure its adequate maintenance.
Earlier , the Special Adviser to Governor Abiola Ajimobi on Security, Mr Segun Bolarinwa, noted that the 10 newly procured patrol vans  has been strategically  positioned to patrol some zones of the state as well  as sectors in Ibadan land.
This, according to him will serve as a better way of responding quickly to security situations.
In attendance at the event are ; the Executive Secretary, Oyo Stat Security Trust Fund, Mr Femi Oyedipe, Garrison Commander ,2 Division, Ibadan, and Commander Operation Burst, Brigadier Oluyinka Soleye , Director, Oyo State Fire Service, Mr Moshood Adewuyi among others.
