The All Progressives Congress Senatorial Candidate in Oyo Central Senatorial District in next month’s election and Speaker of the state’s House of Assembly, Hon. Monsurat Sunmomu, has said if she wins the election, she would be more committed to the welfare of the people of the district.
Sunmonu gave the assurance during a tour of Oyo town and some parts of Ibadan.She said the welfare of people was paramount on her mind, saying that she had been contributing to people’s welfare before venturing into politics.
“I assure you of better welfare and representation if elected. I have been doing this before I ventured into politics and will not relent,” she said.
The Oyo Central Senatorial Candidate said campaigning during elections was not an avenue to tell lies, and assured people of the area that she would adequately cater for them.
The speaker said her coming into politics was not for self interest but for the betterment of the lives of her people.
At the rally which recorded a large turnout of people, Sunmonu commended the Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi, for the role he played in strengthening the present administration in the state. She said all the state’s assembly members from Oyo town were credible people and had not disappointed the people, saying they would perform wonders if they were re-elected.
Sunmonu also said they would concentrate more on bills that would benefit the society and sought the support and cooperation of people of the areas she visited.
APC bigwigs and other loyalists who spoke at the rally pledged to support her senatorial ambition, saying they have no doubt in her credibility.
