A prominent politician and philanthropist from the Kwara South Senatorial District, Otunba Olabode Oyedepo (widely known as DeWay) has described the passing of the Olupo of Ajase-Ipo, Oba Sikiru Atanda Sanni Woleola Ilufemiloye ll, as devastating and a huge blow to the Kwara State Traditional Council.
Otunba Oyedepo in a statement he released through his media team on Monday described the First Class monarch and the Chairman, lgbomina/Ekiti Traditional Council as a man who sacrificed a lot for the peaceful co-existence of his people.
Oyedepo who was a former Sole Administrator of the Kwara State Road Maintenance Agency (KWARMA) recalled the warm reception accorded him by the departed Olupo on the few occasions their path crossed.
He added that, “the late Olupo was a bridge builder, father to all. who sacrificed so much for the progress of his community.
“I particularly want to appreciate him for the immense growth of the Kara market, Ajase-Ipo under his watch. The market has been contributing immensely to socio-economic activities in not only Ajase-Ipo but Kwara State and the North Central of the country.
“The late Olupo will be sorely missed by his people, the government of Kwara State and the Kwara State Traditional Council for his selfless service.”
Otunba Oyedepo, however, said that he will miss the consistent advice of the departed monarch, prayed to God to forgive his shortcomings, grant him eternal rest and give the family the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
