LAGOS STATE
Former Vice Chairman, Lagos
Island Local Government, Honourable
Owolabi Martins has called on
Lagosians and corporate bodies to
pay their taxes promptly to support
the State Government’s development
Addressing journalists in his office,
Honourable Martins, who is
also the President of Lagos House
of Commons, Lagos Island, said it
would be ungracious and dishonest
for individuals and corporate
institutions to evade tax. “It will be
foolhardy for anyone no matter,
how highly–placed and connected
to dodge payment of his tax, and
yet enjoy the facilities of the Centre
of Excellence’’ he stressed.
He commended Governor Babatunde
Raji Fashola’s administration
for restoring the lost glory of Lagos
with the kind of infrastructure he
has provided such as the lightrail
transportation system, under
construction, the reconstruction
of Tejuosho and Oyingbo Markets
which will enhance and uplift commercial
activities in the state.
