The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) caucus talked tough on Tuesday, asking the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to release its National Publicity Secretary, Chief Olisa Metuh, who has been detained by the agency since last week in connection with the alleged $2.1 billion arms scandal within 48hours or charge him to court.
The caucus said Metuh has not committed any treasonable felony to warrant being detained indefinitely.
According to PDP acting National Chairman, Chief Uche Secondus, the offence Metuh was alleged to have committed is a bailable offence.
Secondus said the acting Chairman of EFCC, Ibrahim Magu, should not constitute himself to an accuser and court of law at the same time.
Metuh was alleged to have collected the sum of N400million from the former National Security Adviser, Col. Sambo Dasuki, from the $2.1 billion arms procurement scandal.
Metuh has said he would not release any money to the EFCC. He said he is prepared to go on hunger strike.
Meanwhile, the PDP National Publicity Secretary has already sued the EFCC over his detention.
