The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has congratulated Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State on his victorious outing at the Supreme Court, which validated his election on Wednesday.
A statement by the Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the party, Prince Diran Odeyemi which was made available to newsmen in Osogbo stated that “now that the distraction that the case instituted against Makinde’s victory has been given a “befitting burial by the Apex Court”, people of the Pacesetters State should expect accelerated development.
Odeyemi, who also commended judiciary for dispensing justice without fear or favour, said history would be kind to all the people that had in one way or the other contributed to the victory of PDP at the poll and at the court.
The PDP chieftain said, “Now that the distraction that Adelabu’s case constituted had been taken away with Makinde’s victory, Oyo people should expect accelerated development in all parts of the state.”
Odeyemi also congratulated Ademola Babalola, who was elected chairman of the Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ), Oyo State Council and charged him to work for the progress of the Union in the state.
“The PDP also congratulated Ademola Babalola for emerging new chairman of Oyo Council of the NUJ. It is our hope that he will use his wide range of experience and links to improve the lot of journalists in Oyo Council,” he said.
