..Impounds Four Trucks Filled With 39,000 Litres Of AGO

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Ondo State Command has arrested three suspects for alleged dealings in petroleum products suspected to be Automotive Gas Oil (AGO) popularly also known as Diesel.
The three suspects; Adamu Usman (M) aged 25years, Usman Mohammed (M) aged 25years, Shuabu Ishiaku (M) aged 21years were arrested on different occasions at Ore Town in Odigbo Local Government Area in Ondo State on Sunday 11th July, 2021 by the Antivandal Unit of the Command.
While parading the suspects before newsmen, the State Commandant of the NSCDC, Hammed Abodunrin said: “Having upscaled her strategies in combating the rising rate of criminalities through continuous training and re-training of personnel for effective service delivery and professionalism the Command acted promptly to effect the arrests. Although some of the suspects are currently at large.”
Hammed said that Shuabu Ishiaku who hails from Kolere, Potiskum Local Government Area in Yobe State was arrested with a long truck with registration number YOBE PKM 321 XA containing 13,200 litres of product suspected to be Diesel.
In his statement, the suspect said the truck was originally designed to convey wood but tanks were constructed underneath for easy conveyance of illegally refined AGO and would be transported to intending buyers at their final destination as directed by their boss named Alhaji Shuaibu Amodu.
Adamu Usman who hails from Garindanga, Potiskum Local Government Area also in Yobe State was equally arrested with a long truck with plate number YOBE DTR 354 XA with 13,200 litres of suspected illegally refined petroleum product.
He confessed that the truck took off from Ahoada in Rivers State with the aim of discharging the product to the intended buyer at Ogere in Ogun State.
Furthermore, the third suspect, Usman Mohammed, who also hails from the same local government with the second suspect was apprehended while driving a truck with number plate BAUCHI BAU 68 XR with one tank attached to the truck containing about 6,600 litres of illegally refined petroleum product.
“From the point of arrest we deduced that; there are two tanks constructed and attached to the truck but only one tank was filled with petroleum product leaving the other one empty.
“Additionally, another truck with the number plate YOBE NNR 206 XA was also impounded at Ore town while the suspects took to their heels immediately they sighted the Antivandal Squad. The truck has a tank attached to it which contains about 6,600 litres of illegally refined petroleum product suspected to be AGO.
“The Ondo NSCDC State Commandant reiterated that thorough Investigation is ongoing and at the end of these discreet findings, the suspects would be charged to court of competent jurisdiction if found culpable.
“The Command Intelligence Department has commenced a manhunt operation in order to fish out those suspects at large.
“Our commitment to fighting vandalism, illegal oil bunkering, illegal dealings in petroleum products which have continually led to economic sabotage in the country remains unwavering.
“The Command has zero-tolerance for criminalities hence, all perpetrators are to either relocate out of Ondo State or meet their waterloo,” the commandant said.
