The All Progressives Congress(APC) National Leader, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, was in Sokoto on Saturday to commiserate with the former governor of the state, Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko, over the death of his daughter.
Sadiya died on Thursday at the age of 23 years during childbirth.
Asiwaju Tinubu was accompanied on the trip by former Kebbi State governor, Senator Adamu Aliero, his Nasarawa State counterpart, Senator Al-Makura, and former Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) boss, Malam Nuhu Ribadu, among others.
He urged Senator Wamakko to accept the demise of her daughter as the will of God. He prayed a repose of the soul of the late Sadiyya and longevity for Senator Wamakko and all members of the family.
Speaking with journalists at the residence of Wamakko, Asiwaju sued for peace and unity in the land, saying Nigerians should live with one and another in peace because no one dictated to Allah where he would be born and who would be his parents.
The deceased died at the Usmanu Danfodiyo University Teaching Hospital, Sokoto, following delivery complications.
Funeral prayer was conducted same night at the residence of Senator Wamakko, Sahabi Dange, road, Gawon Nama, Sokoto.
The late Sadiya is survived by her husband, Tambari Yusuf Arkilla, a staff of Nigeria Ports Authority, Lagos, and five-year old daughter.
She had since been buried according to Islamic rites.
