Few days after the launch of the groundbreaking LAMWA Academy, the first in Nigeria and in West Africa, the Managing Director of the Lagos State Waste Management Agency, LAWMA, on Thursday, 17th September, launched the first-ever recycling plant, Janirak Recyclers, in the ancient city of Badagry, Lagos state.
The ingenuity of this recycling plant is that all the machines are locally fabricated.
Addressing the management of Janirak Recyclers and distinguished guests present at the event, Mr Odumboni said he was very impressed with the setup as it goes to show that Lagosians are beginning to key into the Governor Sanwo Olu recycling initiative.
He called on the private sector to take advantage of the huge economic potentials of the recycling business. The LAWMA boss enjoined all to adopt this laudable initiative and replicate it in all the LCDAs in the State.
The Blue Box Recycling Initiatives launched in 2019 by the Executive Governor of Lagos state, if well adopted and implemented, is expected to create thousands of job opportunities in Lagos state.
