As Nigeria celebrates 60years of Independence, the management of the Lagos state waste management agency, LAWMA, has sent a strong warning to cart pushers, scavengers and other unlicensed waste collectors that it will no longer tolerate their activities which is aimed at defacing the state.
The MD/CEO, LAWMA, Mr Ibrahim Odumboni made this disclosure on Thursday as he embarked on a monitoring and enforcement exercise to the various dumpsites in the state.
Odumboni said the government is working to put the dumpsites in very good shape to accommodate the increasing amount of waste that is deposited at the dumpsites. The LAWMA team made their first stop was the Olushosun dumpsite located at Ojota area of the state.
Next Stop is Abule Egba Dumpsite
And then the moves to Solus Dumpsite;
Mr Odumboni expressed his satisfaction at the level of work ongoing at the dumpsites. He urged the PSP operators to key into the rebranding that is currently ongoing in the agency.
