…Suspects implicate Senator Melaye as Paymaster

Police Authorities have disclosed that it has arrested two political thugs and notorious kidnapping kingpin Kabiru Saidu a.k.a Osama and Nuhu Salisu a.k.a Small who have been terrotizing the people of Kogi for quiet sometimes now.

While parading the Suspects at the Police- Headquarters in Lokoja,the the Force Public Relation Officer, Mr Moshood Jimoh who addressed Journalists stated the suspects were arrested based actionable intellingence by the Kogi State Police Command.
The duo were said to have apprehended by the Special Anti Robbery Squad in Ogojueje, Dekina local government area of the State.
Moshood explained that upon interrogation the suspects confessed that they were political thug recruited by some mischievous politicians in Kogi State to cause mayhem, disruption peace And destruction of lives and property in the State.
They also confessed to belong to the gang of dreaded and vicious kidnap for ramsom gang under a gang leader name with held.
“The gang leader Kabiru Osama was introduced to Senator Dino Melaye and they met on airport road Abuja inside Dino Melaye car in December, 2017.
“The suspects further confessed that Senator Melaye told him that they should start working for the senator as his political thugs and they should recruit and train more other thugs to work for him in preparation toward 2019 general election town him (Dino Melaye) challenge his political opponents and disorganized Kogi State.”
Moshood alleged that the suspects confessed to the police that senator Dino Melaye handed over a bag containing one AK 47 rifle, two pump action guns and the sum of four hundred and thirty thousand naira (N430,000) to share with his boy.
He added that consequent upon the indictment and criminal confession of the principal suspect Kabiru Saidu, the police wrote to the Senate requesting Dino Melaye to report to the Kogi State police command to answer questions to criminal offences levelled against him, to enable the police carry out a discreet investigation into the confession of the principal suspect but the lawmaker refused to honour the police invitation.
The police also said a case of criminal conspiracy and unlawful possession of prohibited firearms have been filed against the two suspects at the Federal High court Lokoja including Senator Dino Melaye.
Weapons recovered from the two suspects include Two AK 47, five Pump Action gun, and Charms.
In his swift reaction to the allegations, Senator Melaye said it was a framed up and an orchestrated attempt by the state government to discredited him.
The Senator explained he had never seen the suspects in his life and did not have anything to do with them.
Melaye noted the move was an attempt by the Kogi state government to shut him up and prevent him from speaking the truth about governance in the state.
The Senator added that he contested and won election the House of Representatives and the senate without working with political thugs, saying the plan had been exposed about six weeks ago.
Melaye said, “This is an attempt to shut me up and stop me from speaking the truth but they have failed, it is an orchestrated lie by the governor and the police, in have tweeted about six weeks ago that they want to set me up because I got an Intel from government house when they met to set me up.
“You can see the conflicting statements by the criminals, I heard one said I gave two AK47 and pump action, while the other said I gave only one rifle and that I gave N430,000 to train militia, and that I mldon’t know anybody I have not involved myself with any thugs I became member house of representatives and senate without, if this is an attempt to shut me up they have failed”.
