Police Arrest 2 Suspected Armed Robbers In Ogun

Men of the Ogun State Police Command have arrested two armed robbery suspects.

They were arrested on Sunday at Olambe area of Akute, Ifo Local Government Area of the state.

The two suspects, Lukman Olanrewaju (27 years old) and Shola Alabi (28 years old), were arrested following a distress call received by the DPO Ajuwon Divisional Headquarters, Andrew Akinseye, a Superintendent of Police (SP), at about 5pm.

The three men armed robbery gang were operating at Olambe area, as they had shot one commercial motorcyclist who was later identified as Anas Usman and snatched his motorcycle.

Upon the distress call, the DPO  led his men to the scene, and with the collaboration of the So Safe Corps, the two robbers were arrested, while the third member of the gang escaped.

Recovered from them were one cut to size locally-made gun, two live cartridges and the snatched motorcycle.

The victim was quickly taken to the hospital for treatment, while effort is on top gear to apprehend the remaining member of the gang.

Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police, Edward Awolowo Ajogun has ordered the immediate transfer of the suspects to state Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department (SCIID), for discreet investigation and diligent prosecution.
