Police Arrest 22-year-old Vulcaniser in Ogun for Stealing Customer’s Pant

A 22-year-old vulcanizer, Dele Ope, is now explaining to men of Ogun State Police Command the rationale behind his weird desire to steal his female customer’s pant (name withheld) recently at Warewa via Ibafo in Obafemi Owode Local Government Area of the state.

According to a statement from the Public Relations Officer of the state police command, DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi, Dele was on Sunday arrested following a complaint lodged against him by this female customer at Divisional Police Station, Warewa, along Lagos-Ibadan expressway.

The woman was said to have narrated that she had called the Vulcaniser to help fix the deflated tyre of her car and that after fixing the tyre and left, she discovered that her pant being dried on the rope in their compound had developed wings.

She was reported to have told the police that she suspected that the Vulcaniser might have hand in the sudden disappearance of her pant since he was the only person that came into their compound.

The woman complained further that, immediately, she noticed this anomaly, she went in search of Dele, the Vulcaniser but he had disappeared into thin air.

Acting on this report, the DPO Warewa division, SP Folake Afeniforo detailed detectives to the area where the suspect was traced and arrested. His house was quickly searched and lo and behold, the woman’s pant was recovered therein.

The police stated that during interrogation, the suspect confessed stealing the pant with the intention of taking it to an herbalist for money-making ritual.

Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police, CP Kenneth Ebrimson has ordered that the suspect be charged to court as soon as investigation was concluded.
