Ondo State Police Command has arrested the suspected kidnappers and killers of the All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain, Hon. Odimayo Olumide.
Hon. Olumide was kidnapped at his residence in Igbotu, Ese- Odo area of the state on June 16.
The gunmen invaded his home and shot sporadically to scare the people before taking him away.
However, the police and the entire people of the community swung into action in setting Olumide free from his abductors.
They located the kidnappers and pursued them but the gunmen later threw their victim (Olumide) into the lagoon so as to avenge the killing of their gang member that was shot on the head in the process.
Olumide was later found dead by the river side.
Police was able to arrest eight of the suspects, while five others at still at large.
A father, Bekewel Francis (50), and his son, David Francis(16), were among the suspects paraded on Wednesday in Akure, at the police headquarters.
Others are: Fikessei Inuesokan,(m), Ekan Roman,(m), Gbamila Success (m), Bodidi Idowu (m), ljamboh Idowu(m) Saturday Amos(m). Ak49 with 8 different operational phones of different brands were also recovered. Three of the suspects arrested are secondary school students.
