Dominion Okoro, the woman who allegedly killed Madam Maria Oredola Igbinedion, mother of former Governor of Edo State, Chief Lucky Igbinedion, has been arrested by police operatives.
She was arrested on Tuesday, 16 December, in Calabar, Cross River State and is currently being detained at the Edo State Police Command headquarters in Benin.
The 85 years old woman, was allegedly strangled to death on Thursday, December 2, in Ugbor, GRA, Benin-City by Okoro, who was her house help.
After the killing, the suspect was alleged to have ransacked the house and fled with unspecified amount of money and jewelry.
It was gathered that police her arrest was made possible by police operatives, in collaboration with some concerned individuals.
Late Igbinedion was laid to rest on Friday, 10 December, 2021.
When contacted on phone for confirmation, the Edo Police Command spokesman, Kontongs Bello, said he has not been contacted by the officer in charge.
