The Kwara state Judicial Panel of inquiry on #EndSARS protest has called for petitions and complaints on alleged human rights abuses in the state.
The panel made the call in a statement on Sunday by its Chairman Hon. Justice Tunde Garba (RTD)
“The Kwara State Judicial Panel on Human Rights Abuses by the Police hereby use this medium to officially call for petitions/complaints from the general public on any allegation of assault, human rights abuses and extrajudicial killings by members of the Nigeria Police Force especially the disbanded SARS”.
The panel highlighted its terms of Reference as; to receive and investigate complaints of police brutality, human rights abuses, violations, and or extra judicial killings.
To Evaluate evidence presented/surrounding circumstances and draw conclusions on the validity of the complaints; and,
To Recommend compensations, prosecution, and other remedial measures where appropriate.
The panel in view of that called for 12 copies of petitions/complaints which should be addressed to its chairman.
“In view of the foregoing, kindly forward 12 copies of your petitions/complaints in writing to: The Chairman, Kwara State Judicial Panel of Inquiry on #EndSARS Protest, Room 341, Governor’s Office, Ilorin. Kwara State”.
The statement also stated that Petitions could be submitted through other channels below from 26th October to 8th November 2020.

The panel, however, looks forward to prompt response from the affected citizens in order to be able to accommodate, treat and conclude all cases within the ninety days period of their assignment.
