Ogun State Police Command said it has discovered another baby factory home at Lagos Street Adesan, Mowe in Obafemi Owode local government area of the state.

The police stated that preliminary investigation had linked the baby factory allegedly to one Mrs. Florence Ogbonna who is said to be a notorious baby factory operator with a similar case pending against her in the law court.

The discovery of the home on Friday, November 27 was said to have been made possible after concerned residents of the area informed the police at Mowe divisional headquarters of a particular building located in their area which was strongly suspected to be a baby-making factory.

The residents were said to have complained that most of the women living in the building were always with pregnancy and whenever they delivered, they hardly see them with their babies. They stated further that from their observation, the babies were being sold.

According to a statement from the Spokesman of the state police command, DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi, on the strength of this complaint from the residents, the DPO Mowe division, SP Marvis Jayeola was said to have led his men to the area where a man who is strongly suspected to be working for the operator of the home was arrested with four women and four children.

One of the women arrested was said to be heavily pregnant while one of them was also suspected to have just delivered a baby which had allegedly been sold as usual.

The police stated that preliminary investigation had revealed that the home is strongly linked to one Mrs Florence Ogbonna, a notorious baby factory operator who had earlier been arrested for similar offence and had her case pending in court.

Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police, CP Edward Ajogun Awolowo has ordered a massive manhunt for the said Florence Ogbonna. The CP had also ordered that the case be transfer to Anti-human trafficking and child labour unit of the State Criminal investigation and intelligence department for discreet investigation.
