Police Dismiss Officer For Brutalizing  Fashion Designer in Osun

The Nigeria Police Force have dismissed Inspector Ago Egharevba, the Police Officer who allegedly brutalized a fashion designer, Ayomide Taiwo with the butt of his gun.

The Osun State Police Command made this known in a statement signed by the command Public Relations Officer, SP  Yemisi Opalola and made available to newsmen in Osogbo on Tuesday.

Ayomide died on Sunday at the Ladoke Akintola Teaching Hospital (LAUTECH), Osogbo, where he was receiving treatment.

According to the statement, the State Commissioner of Police,Undie Adie disclosed that the erring Police Officer has been identified, arrested and detained.

“The defaulter has passed through Force disciplinary procedures of orderly room trial, dismissed and he will be subsequently charged to court,” the CP said.

Adie frowned at the misconduct of Police Officer attached to Ibokun Divisional Police Headquarters and condemned in totality grievous assault on the innocent man.

He then warned that “the Command under his watch will not tolerate any act of indiscipline, brutality, unprofessional behaviour and incivility to members of the public.”

Adie who condoled with the family of the victim,  assured justice and fairness in the matter.

He also urged the people of the State to continue to cooperate with the Command in the fight against crimes and in the spirit of community policing.
