Police Nab Man over Fraud via Bank Alert

By Kolawole Olayinka in Abeokuta

Detectives at Obantoko Division of Ogun State Police Command have arrested one Abdullahi Rauf, male, a 42-years-old living at Ayetoro Road, Olomore, Abeokuta, Ogun State, for allegedly defrauding an electronics company and stealing electronic items worth three million naira through fraudulent bank alert.

He is at present cooling his heels at the station’s custody while investigation is going on.

The suspect, said to be fond of defrauding companies, met his waterloo when the owner of the recently-duped electronics company located in Abeokuta discovered that the account he operates with one of the new generation banks was not credited with any money contrary to a bank alert he had earlier received to that effect.

He raised the alarm and reported the development to police operatives attached to Obantoko Division who then placed the suspect under surveillance until he was nabbed.
