Men of the Nigeria Police Force and Okada riders are currently engaged in a face-off at Iyana-Ipaja area of Lagos State.
The police are firing life bullets to disperse the commercial motorcycle operators, who are insisting on resuming operations on the road despite a ban on their activities by the Lagos State Government.
Hoodlums were seen burning tyres on the major express road, blocking vehicular movements for over five hours.
Police officers were seen retreating the dastard act by first firing teargas at the miscreants as they later used life bullets because of the sophisticated weapons used by the hoodlums.
Commuters were stranded at the streets hiding at shops and offices around the area.
The intrastate bus parks were shadows of itself, no single vehicle was seen at the parks as the fight continues.
Some of the miscreants who spoke with Western Post said they are fighting for the return of Okada and Maruwa ban by Lagos State Government.
Commercial vehicle drivers also said that some of their vehicles were vandalized by hoodlums while those loading states outside Lagos lost millions of naira since they were unable to load and take passengers to their destinations.
At least three people were injured in the clash at Ijora while a commercial bus driver identified as Baba Ibeji was hit and killed by a stray bullet.
Meanwhile, the state government has reiterated its commitment not to reverse the decision.
