Police Rescue Kidnapped KWASU Student, Arrest Six Suspects

    The Kwara State Police Command has rescued Isiaq Kadijat, the kidnapped 300 level student of the Kwara State University (KWASU).
    This was contained in a statement signed by the state’s Police Public Relations Officer, Okasanmi Ajayi on Saturday.
    According to the statement, six suspects involved in the act have been arrested,  while different categories of weapons used in the kidnap were also recovered.
    The suspects will be charged to court after investigation, according to the police.
    The statement added that the victim has been medically examined and declared fit and will be reunited with her family.
    The statement said: “The Commissioner of Police Kwara State Police Command, Tuesday Assayomo, is happy to inform the general public of the successful search and rescue operation conducted in liberating the abducted 300L Mass Communication female student of Kwara State University by name Isiaq Kadijat.
    “The people may recall that on 23/8/2021, at about 930pm, a 300L female student of Kwara State University, Malete was kidnapped in one of the off campuses of the institution.
    “The command wishes to acknowledge the support  of the Inspector General of Police, Usman Alkali Baba, the local hunters, vigilante and the school authority.
    “The commissioner of police further reiterates his avowed commitment to making Kwara State uninhabitable and hot for criminals and would-be trouble makers.”
