Political thugs, whose identities could not be ascertained, recently laid siege on the campaign office of the gubernatorial candidate of the Labour Party (LP) in Oyo State, Otunba Adebayo Alao-Akala.
According to a report reaching WESTERN POST, some hoodlums on a motorcycle pelted the glass windows of the campaign office of the Destiny House at Premier Hotel area, Oremeji, Mokola, Ibadan shattering some windows in the process.
In a release made available to WESTERN POST by the Director-General of the Alao-Akala Campaign Organisation, Dr. Kola Balogun and signed by him, the incident was described as an act of intolerance against the Labour Party by the opposition in the state, warning on the re-occurrence of such dastardly act.
Describing the act as provocative, Balogun said that was the third time in the last few weeks that opposition stalwarts would attack Labour Party’s materials and persons, adding that they have reported the incidents to the police and they said they were still conducting investigations on the complaints.
According to the release, a security man whose name was revealed as Clement claimed that the incident occurred on Wednesday night, when some hoodlums on a motorcycle stormed the area with basket full of stones to destroy the campaign office.
