Popular gospel artist, Lanre Teriba, also known as Atorise, was reportedly attacked and injured over the weekend in Lagos by armed men suspected to be Fulani herdsmen.
A source said the incident happened on Saturday night at the Berger end of the Lagos/ Ibadan expressway while the singer was returning from an engagement.
Agency reports had it that a group of unknown gunmen attacked the musician while returning from a wedding ceremony where he entertained guests.
Atorise who is currently receiving treatment in a Lagos hospital sustained serious injury in the head and neck.
The gospel singer said he is still alive is a miracle, informing that he was only revived to life after he was rushed to the hospital from the scene of the incident.
He said he had earlier passed out as a result of the devastating effect of the deadly weapon unleashed on him by his attackers who actually left him lifeless until God took control.
Recall that the singer just released a song titled WHY THE KILLINGS, where he lamented the state of insecurity in the country.
Now he has joined the statistics of those who have come under attack by alleged Fulani herdsmen.
In the song, Atorise campaigned against the unending cases of kidnapping and wanton killings especially by suspected Fulani herdsmen among other murderous gangs responsible for the various reported cases of killing in the country in the name of religion.
