President Goodluck Jonathan returned to Lagos again on Monday, May 4 for what sources described as a private meeting.
It was the president’s first visit after the presidential election.
The president made several visits to Lagos in the build-up to the last March 28 presidential election, which he lost.
At one point, he practically relocated to Lagos from where he was holding court, meeting traditional rulers and O’odua Peoples Congress leaders at the old State House in Marina..
President Jonathan’s plane landed in Lagos on Monday around 3 pm, according to sources, following which he headed for Dodan Barracks, the old State House.
But shortly afterwards, the president again headed for Redemption Camp where he had a private meeting with the General Overseer of the Redeemed Church, Pastor Enoch Adeboye.
The meeting was said to have lasted less than one hour.
It was not clear what the meeting was all about but it may not have been unconnected with his last-minute preparations to leave office.
President Jonathan’s tenure expires on May 29.
