A heavy downpour of rain on Tuesday morning has wreaked havoc in most parts of Ibadan, the Oyo state capital, destroying electricity poles, house roofs, fences among others.
The torrential rain, accompanied by windstorm, brought down some high-tension pole wires, thus, cutting some areas off the electricity supply.
Some residents of the ancient city have since been left in darkness, occasioned by the havoc done and by the rainfall.
The affected areas identified so far, include; Idi Obi, Agugu, Oremeji among others.
The rain, which started around 2am, lasted for about three hours. Though, there was no casualty recorded, properties worth millions of naira were destroyed by the rainstorm.
