As part of efforts to avoid spreading of coronavirus pandemic in Kogi State, the Family of Isah Kutepa has converted the annual provision of foods at breaking time to raw food and distributed accordingly as Muslims begin Ramadan on Friday.
In a statement released by family members copy of which was made available to newsmen in Lokoja on Thursday, stated that the family has distributed food items for the people to commence their Ramadan within confine of their homes instead of converging at the mosque on daily basis.
The Statement explained this after the final distribution of the last batch of raw foods to Adankolo, Lokongoma and Barracks Communities, stressing that the family has decided this year to procure raw foods and have it distributed directly as sadaka for this year’s Ramadan.
According to the statement, ” In line with the Isa Kutepa family Ramadan tradition of providing cooked food throughout the month of Ramadan to start the fast early in the morning (Sahur) and to break the fast in the evening (Iftar) at the Isa Kutepa Family mosque. Hence, the family decided to improvised by given out raw foods, towards avoiding the potential risk of the spread of the Corona virus.
” This year we also decided to extend the feeding to the Central mosque, beyond the location where the family mosque is situated. Our goal is to feed 1000 people at dawn and evening for 30 days”.
The Statement wished the Muslim ummah a successful Ramadan, urged for prayers for Allah’s blessings and divine intervention for quick ending of the corovid 19 pandemic.
