The Re-Elect Ajimobi 2015 Movement has called on all eligible voters in Oyo State to ensure that they do everything humanly possible to obtain their Permanent Voter Cards (PVC) before the expiration of the new deadline for collection announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
This call, according to the Ajimobi 2015 Movement, became necessary in view of the on-going reported hardships being encountered across the state by prospective voters.
“It is very important that as patriotic citizens, we must all ensure that those who by their acts of omission or commission wanted to disenfranchise us do not succeed,” the Ajimobi 2015 Movement said, adding, “the only way out is to persevere and ensure that we overcome all obstacles to collect our PVCs and perform our civic duty by voting candidates and parties of our choices in the rescheduled general elections”.
Rather than be complaining all day, the Ajimobi 2015 Movement appealed to all those who are yet to collect their new Voters’ Card to take the right step by creating some time to visit the Local Government INEC offices that control their registration centers.
This call becomes necessary in view of the fact that it has been discovered that thousands of PVCs are waiting for collection at the various INEC offices across Oyo State, a situation which we must all address and ensure we are ready for the rescheduled elections.
“It is by so doing, that we could effectively mobilize and position ourselves as voters and major stakeholders in the Nigeria project. Besides, our votes will determine our relevance in our areas of domicile and the type of quality representation that we deserve, in Oyo State.
He said: “Good governance does not happen by chance, except by concerted efforts of determined and politically conscious electorate who are always on top of their game”.
According to the Ajimobi 2015 Movement, the PVC is not about 2015 General Elections alone, but a multi-purpose identification card that is renewable and useful for important business and related transactions for years to come. For these reasons, owners of PVCs should resist all those who are approaching them to exchange the cards for money or bags of rice.
