Reactions Trail Purported Sack of Kogi APC Exco

By Wale Ibrahim, Lokoja

Reactions have continued to trail the newspaper report claiming that the Kogi State Chairman of All Progressives Congress (APC), and other 38 members of Executive have relieved of their position.

This has indicated that there is fresh indication that the lingering crisis rocking the party in Kogi State chapter of party is far from being end, as the two factions continued to be at dagger drawn.

However the it has been controversy following the petition written against Alhaji Haddy Ametuo led exco And the North Central Exco of the party had been try to wade into the lingering crisis with aims of amicable resolution, but this is not yet to be.

But following the purported dissolution of the State Exco by the North Central executive in the national daily , this was said to have infuriated the exco members.

Also the Director General,Media Fanwo was said to have posted photo copies of letter sacking Ametuo led Exco which has elicited more reactions.

In statement signed by the State Chairman of APC, Alhaji Hardy Ametuo and copy of which was made available to journalists in Lokoja yesterday, Ametuo stated that it was not true.

“Our attention has been drawn to newspaper report claiming that the apc has removed myself and 38 others from the party.

“The newspaper report is fraudent, ill conceived and terminological inexactitude. The committee’s report, which is inspired by SAP-induced mentality, was not approved at the last zonal EXCO meeting.

“The displayed was signed one third of the total  members of the zonal EXCO.

“The general public especially members of the party in the state should disregard this report. It is premature and ultra bored.

“Our president, Muhammad Buhari has appointed our highly reverred national leader, Chief Bola Ahmed Tinubu  to resolve all the crises in the party.

“You are hereby informed that no executive member has been removed. I, Alh Haddy Ametuo remains the state chairman of our great party in kogi state.

“I urge you all to remain more resolute, steadfast and committed to the emancipation of kogites  from mental, socio economic  slavery,” he posited.

The former running mate to APC Governorship candidate  in November election, Chief James Faleke stated that he read in the papers that the State Executive has been dissolved.

“Only yesterday morning it came to our knowledge that the North Central Chairman had collected money to carry put an illegal dissolution but I maintained that it was not possible because in the first instance only the national working committee can recommend the dissolution of the State executive which must be ratified by NEC before a State executive can be dissolved.

“So I don’t see how a zonal office can dissolve an executive. The fact that it was very unfortunately a petition was written by the Yahaya Bello group against executive and a 4 man committee was set up.”

Faleke noted that the membership of the State executive loyal to Governor Bello were 12 while the other group on the State chairman’s side were 39 and they went to defend themselves in Lafia two weeks ago, adding that it was obvious that the petition was very frivolous from the publication that I saw.

So if the committee was set up, my expectation the recommendations of that committee should have been passed on to the national working committee before any action is taken that is my own expectation.

“It is the same national working committee that caused the havoc that we are having in Kogi State today. Is it now that the President is making peace in the party that such a thing should come up”, he stated.
