The Asoju of the Reformed Ogboni Fraternity, West Region 3, Professor Dayo Oyekole, has sued for peace ahead of the 2015 election.
Prof. Oyekole gave the advice at the regional centenary celebration of the body held at its headquarters, Yemetu, Ibadan.
He stated that politicians should play the game according to rule, stressing that acts of thuggery and gangsterism should be avoided in the interst of the country.
He maintained that the fraternity is not an organ of any political party but only deeply concerned with social and religious harmony and dispelled insinuations that the body is a ritualist group.
Oyekole said the fraternity is open to everybody who cherishes peaceful coexistence and love for fellow human beings.
‘The cardinal points, which members cherish are truth, honesty, justice and brotherhood through charity and chastity,” he added.
The fraternity chief averred that members of the group were like other Nigerians maintaining that the body is made up of eminent personalities, religious and responsible individuals.
He disclosed that the fraternity would continue to partner all levels of government to ensure the emergence of a peaceful and just society.
Oyekole also advised the Boko Haram insurgents to sheathe their swords and allow peace to reign in the country.
He said the grand finale of the centenary would hold in Lagos on Thursday, December 18.
