Two persons, including a mobile policeman and one civilian were on Wednesday shot dead by armed robbers during an attack on a bullion van in Ore, Odigbo Local Government Area in Ondo State.
The incident came barely two weeks after another bullion van was attacked by armed robbers in the state. In total, three bullion vans have been attacked in the state, with the loss of three policemen.
Eyewitnesses said the bullion van was attacked at Costain area, few kilometers from Ore.
According to a source, the dare-devil armed robbers opened fire on the bullion van and the escort van while on motion.
As at press time, it was yet to be ascertained whether the robbers were able to cart away cash from the bullion van.
Efforts to speak with the state Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Funmilayo Odunlami proved abortive as she was not picking calls put across to her.
