The Speaker Oyo State House of Assembly, Hon. Adebo Edward Ogundoyin has called for peace unity and cooperation among Nigerians in order promote peaceful co existence in the country.
Hon Ogundoyin made the call while felicitating Muslims in the State and beyond on the celebration of the Eid-el-Kabir festival, urging them to pray for continuous peace and prosperity in the State.
Ogundoyin in a Sallah message jointly signed by his Special Assistant on Media, Oyetunji Oyekunle and New Media, Ojebola Matthew in Ibadan, appealed to residents of Oyo State to remain steadfast and committed to supporting Governor Seyi Makinde’s led administration and its programmes for the development of the state.
According to him, despite the security and economic challenges facing the country, the three arms of government in Oyo State, with the support of the people have all it requires to restore the pace setter glory.
Ogundoyin said, “As I celebrate with my mothers, fathers, sisters and brothers in Islam, I will also wish to show gratitude to all the people of Oyo State for the support given to us since the beginning of this administration and assure them of our commitment to our electoral promises always.
“We know times are tough but we are a tough people too. Therefore, instead of complaining always about the comatose state we met our dear State, we will keep working, and without any doubt we shall overcome all our present socio-economic setbacks sooner than anticipated.
“I also call on everyone of us to join hands in strengthening the bond of unity in Nigeria. I believe we are Nigerians first, before any religion or political affiliation. Thus, let us always give peaceful coexistence a chance to ensure a faster and long lasting economic and socio-political stability
