The Northern Emancipation Network (NEN), a socio-political pressure group dedicated to generational leadership shift in the country, has said Vice President Namadi Sambo is capable of securing block votes in the North for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in next month’s general elections.
The leader of the group, Mr. Abdul-Azeez Suleiman, who gave the assurance in Abuja, said the tempo generated by the Sambo’s visit to Kaduna last week coupled with the recent endorsement of President Jonathan by the Northern Elders were enough pointers that the PDP would clinch the North in the March polls.
Suleiman said the sudden springing up of President Jonathan’s posters all over Kaduna and around most cities of the North were signs that the Vice President’s four-day visit is already yielding dividends.
“A few weeks back, President Jonathan’s posters were very rare in the North but suddenly they are all over northern cities following the Vice President ‘s strategic 4-day visit to Kaduna,” he said.
He noted that already the table has been turned against the opposition in the social media and other online portals which was not the case before.
Suleiman urged the Vice President to sustain the tempo and assured him that the group is solidly behind the PDP.
