Christian pilgrims have been charged to be shining examples in their different spheres of influence which will in turn lead to the development of society and the state at large.
This was made known by the wife of the State Governor, Dr. Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu during a thanksgiving service held in honour of the 2020 General/2021 Easter pilgrimage exercise at The Chapel of Christ The Light, Alausa, Ikeja.
The first lady represented by Mrs. Funmi Omotoso, the wife of the Commissioner for Information and Strategy noted that the reflection of the lessons learnt at the pilgrimage exercise must be exhibited by the pilgrims so that people can see a positive attitude in them.
Sanwo-Olu noted that it is a well-known fact that people no longer read the bible but study the behavior and attitude of Christians hence the need to consciously be of good character and worthy ambassadors of Jesus Christ.
She, however, commended the Lagos State Christian Pilgrims Welfare Board (LSCPWB) for conducting a hitch free pilgrimage journey to Jordan which is first of its kind.
In his remarks Commissioner for Home Affairs, Prince Anofiu Elegushi commended the conduct of the pilgrims throughout the journey.
He described the thanksgiving service as very necessary considering the fact that the pilgrimage to Jordan is a new experience as a result of the eventuality of Covid19 whereby the country of Israel closed its borders to religious exercise hence the option of Jordan.
He charged the Jordan Pilgrims (JP) to continue to be worthy ambassadors and law abiding citizens as they have exhibited in the kingdom of Jordan during the pilgrimage exercise.
