Governor Babajide Sanwo-olu on Monday praised the Nigerian Army for the level of support given the nation on issues of security, not just in Lagos but Nigeria as a whole.
Governor of Lagos State made this known when Chief of Staff Lieutenant General Tukur Buratai paid him a courtesy visit to the state House, Alausa – lkeja , accompanied by other top Military Officers.
Sanwo-Olu who described the Military formations in the country, as the most discipline, thanked the Army for the continuous support on security in Lagos.
While noting that the issue of effective security is a collective task of many stakeholders, the governor maintained that it is only when a country is safe and secured that more foreign direct investment could be visible.
He pledged the continuous support of the state government for the operations of the Army formations in Lagos.
Earlier in his speech, the Chief of Army staff, Lt.General Buratai congratulated Governor Sanwo-Olu on his victory at the polls, stating his visit was to intimate the governor on the activities lined up for the 2019 Nigerian Army Day celebration and the Army Combat Support Arms Training Week.
The Army Chief who also used the medium to announce that the “Operation Crocodile Smile” would be coming back to Lagos later in the year, urged the State government to engage the Nigerian Army Engineer Corps in some its lnfrastructural projects, considering it’s capacities.
Lagos State Executives who were with the Governor of Lagos to receive the Army Chief include the Deput Governor, Obafemi Hamzat, Secretary to the state government, Mrs Folashade Jaji, Head of Service, Mr Hakeem Muri-Okunola and the Chief of staff, Mr Tayo Ayinde
