The proposed Year 2020 appopriation bill will be Sanwo-Olu’s inaugural budget estimate presentation since assumption of office in May 2019.
In a statement issued and signed by the Assembly’s Director of Public Affairs, Bose Lambo, stakeholders from all walks of life, including the organised private sector, members of the diplomatic corps, political groups and other dignitaries and party stalwarts in the State are expected to grace the occasion.
“Meanwhile, only invited guests are expected at the event as maximum security will be provided.
“The Leadership of the Assembly assures Lagosians of exemplary discharge of its legislative duties that would transform the lives of all Lagosians”, the statement concluded
It will be recalled that Sanwo-Olu led administration was inaugurated May this year after the expiration of the Ambode led government whose last budget presentation experienced brouhaha and thereby created tension that nearly collapse the financial status of the state and as well created infrastructural deficit.
Few weeks ago, the House of Assembly approved Sanwo-Olu’s 2019 budget re-ordering request to be able to meet up with governance expenses.
Sanwo-Olu, in the request letter, said that the present administration is confronted with the need to keep its electoral promises to the citizens and resolved to take advantage of clement weather condition in the later part of the year to complete various projects.
