Lagos: How Sanwo-olu, Hamzat Stormed TBS, Took Oath of Office in Style

The newly-inaugurated Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-olu, walked into the Tafawa Balewa Square inauguration ceremony venue at about 10:35am and was saluted by the guards before walking to greet dignitaries at the podium.

Earlier around 10:30am, the new Deputy Governor, Dr Obafemi Hamzat, also emerged at  the inauguration venue. He took his salute from the decorated guards who adorned red ceremonial suit and black trousers.

Immediately after Hamzat took the salute, he went directly to pay homage to Senator Oluremi Tinubu, the wife of the National Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, who sat beside the Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Mudashiru Obasa.

Hamzat, who put on white “Agbada” with a powered blue cap to match also moved to greet the Second Republic Governor of the State, Alhaji Lateef Jakande.

As at 10:40, the General Overseer of the Mountain of Fire and Miracle (MFM), Dr Kolawole Olukoya, was called upon to say the opening prayer while the Chief Imam of Lagos rendered the Muslim prayer.

At exactly, 11:23am, the Chief Judge of Lagos, Hon. Justice Opeyemi Oke, administered the oath of office on the Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-olu, while the Deputy Governor, Dr Obafemi Hamzat, took his oath of office and allegiance at exactly 11:15am.
