11402969_10153375354749962_8124900683753263146_nSenate President Bukola Saraki, former President Olusegun Obasanjo and others, Friday, were reported to be in a closed-doors meeting at the Obasanjo’s Hilltop Mansion in Abeokuta.

Among those sighted in Abeokuta are Senators Ahmed Yerima, Andy Uba, Danjuma Goje and a former National Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party, Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola.

The meeting is in progress as at press time.

It is, however, unclear why the politicians have come to see Obasanjo, but It is believed to be in connection with the battle to retain his election as Senate President.

On Thursday, it was learnt that the sharing of principal offices in the Senate and House of Representative seems to be creating a fresh crisis in the ruling All Progressives Congress.

It was learnt that Bukola Saraki who emerged Senate President controversially has rejected the sharing formular proposed by the party’s National Working Committee for the position of principal officers.

The principal offices to be filled by the APC in the Senate and the House of Representatives are Senate/House Leader, Deputy Senate/House Leader, Chief Whip and Deputy Chief Whip.

But the APC National Working Committee wanted the position filled by the party leadership while Saraki wanted the positions ceded to the various geo-political zones with the caucuses in those zones would pick the leaders.

More details later.
