The Commander of the Amotekun security outfit in Ondo state, Adetunji Adeleye has warned that any motorcycle, popularly known as Okada in the state found moving around 6:00pm will be impounded and the owner prosecuted.

He made the assertion during a press briefing with journalists in Akure, the state capital on Saturday.

According to him, the decision was borne out of bikes used to perpetrate most of the devilish activities in Ondo, therefore, making the security work of the sister agencies more tedious.

Adeleye said that no fewer than four herdsmen arrested by Amotekun Corps in Ondo in connection with the kidnapping, armed robbery, murder, and destruction of farmlands at Jugbere settlement/Sanusi village in Owo Local Government Area of the State.

Meanwhile, the Corps declared that none of their officers was missing or killed during the operation in Owo.

Adeleye, said the suspects were arrested within one hour of the operation.

Adeleye said that some hoodlums suspected to be kidnappers, illegal miners, and herdsmen, did not only kill a farmer and a member of the vigilante group in the area, but also burnt vehicles and motorcycles of the corps

Adeleye, also said the operation was carried out with the collaboration efforts of the Nigerian Army, Police force and the DSS, explained that there was no crossfire but the security operatives only responded to a distress call from the area.

The commander allowed the operative, Sesan Adebayo popularly known as Otapo, that was rumored to have been missing or killed during the operation to speak with newsmen.

Adeleye, said the existing curfew on motorcycles okada riders in the state from six O’clock in the evening was still in force, noting that his men would start its enforcement on Monday, defaulting motorcyclists would be prosecuted for the security breach.
