In a bid to enhance adequate policing and ease communication among police officers working within Somolu area of Lagos state, the lawmaker representing Somolu Constituency 1 in the Lagos State House of Assembly, Hon. Rotimi Olowo, has donated 12 Walkie Talkies to the Alade Police Station.
Olowo, who made a surprise visit to the police station over the weekend, explained that the police should be encouraged and motivated in the discharge of their duties, eulogising them for providing adequate security in the constituency.
The lawmaker added ” We need to motivate and encourage our police officers for securing our lives and properties. They are doing a great work which should be applauded by all.
” I am donating these 12 Walkie Talkies to this station (Alade Police Station, Somolu) to ease official communication among its officers during their operations. This will help them to be more efficient and effective in discharging their duties in our community”
Olowo stressed ” Policing should not be left alone to our gallant policemen, we must play our part as responsible residents by supporting them to succeed in their job. We should help them with relevant information at any given time. This will help to fight crime in the locality and the state at large”
He advised the youths to desist from crime and drug abuse, saying that they should not allow peer group to influence their attitude negatively.
While receiving the 12 Walkie Talkies, the Divisional Police Officer of the station, CSP Sola Agoyi, thanked Olowo, promising that his men would make good use of the equipment for effective policing and communication.
The Station Officer, Inspector Okoi and Operations Officer, ASP Abubakar Umar joined the DPO to receive the Walkie Talkies.
