Security operatives on Monday stormed the palace of Emir of Kano in Kano State, Sanusi Lamido Sanusi, in an attempt to remove him from the place.
Sanusi is said to have been banished to Nasarawa State.
He was early this afternoon dethroned by the state government following months of disagreement with Governor Abdullahi Ganduje.

Since mounting the throne, Sanusi, who was formerly Governor of Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) and suspended by former President Goodluck Jonathan, had carried on like an activist on the throne.
He was said to have worked against Governor Ganduje’s re-election, which drew the governor’s ire.
