Ahead of the Presidential and National Assembly elections, the Senator Representing Kogi East Senatorial District, Senator Atai Usman Aidoko has begged Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) stakeholders and members asking them for forgiveness.
Aidoko who was giving a vote of thanks on behalf of the national and state Legislators at the PDP stakeholders meeting held at the party secretariat in Lokoja confessed that they have offended many of the constituents and therefore begged for forgiveness.
The lawmaker admitted that he and other elected representatives of the Party might have wrong so many people in the past, saying that it is high time to beg for forgiveness in the interest of the great Party, the Peoples Democratic Party PDP.
“Yes we have fight enough in the past ,we have made mistakes at one time or the other .But we should not allow these to make us lose election at critical period . It is very important to win our elections from the beginning so that the governorship election will be a walk over in November 2019”, he stressed.
He however called on the party loyalists to consider the interest over any matter and work towards total victory of the party at the polls.
Aidoko cautioned that any mistake at the next polls could affect the chances of the party in the November governorship election.
Aidoko lamented that the APC led administration in the State have noting to show in the last three years, adding that the Party is not even campaigning because they not done anything.
Leader of the party in the state and former Governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Ibrahim Idris said despite intimidation and harassment the PDP will win the February and March elections.
The former governor who urged members to be resolute, fearless and committed to the party first, advised them to put the interest of the party above individuals or candidates.
“You should work for the party, not because of any individual, you are working to liberate yourselves from the enslavement by the APC,” Alhaji Idris stated.
The ex- governor noted that the Peoples Democratic Party in the State is poised to recapture the seat of power in the November 2019 gubernatorial election.
While speaking,the State Chairman of the party Engineer Sam Uhotu assured that the party is set to win elections as it has reached a point of no retreat no surrender.
While reviewing the activities of the party in the state, the Chairman commended the leaderships of the three senatorial districts for the successes so far recorded.
