The former governor of Abia State and Senator representing the state at the National Assembly, Orji Uzo Kalu has admonished serving governors on tackling insecurity in Nigeria, stressing that they have the greatest roles to play to overcome the trend even better than the federal government.
Kalu who gave the admonition when he paid a courtesy visit to Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi state at the Lugard House in Lokoja on Wednesday, said that the alarming cases of kidnap, banditry, and armed robbery across the country in recent times is very worrisome, pointing out that the governors remain the best leaders that could effectively use their positions to remedy the situation.

In his words, “Kogi state is most peaceful under the leadership of Governor Yahaya Bello.

He also commended Governor Bello’s efforts in empowering the youths and giving them the opportunity to serve in government.
According to Senator Kalu, “The job of a governor is most desirable in the hands of the youths who remains the active productive sector to deliver. I became the governor of Abia state at 39 and to God be the glory I made my mark in the governance”
He, therefore, called on the people of Kogi state to continue to support Governor Bello in his exemplary leadership roles to bring the needed democracy dividends down to everybody in the state.
In his remarks, Governor Bello expressed delight with the encouragement and motivation extended to him by Senator Orji Uzo Kalu to lead the state on the right path since he came on board.
