Senatorial Aspirant Advocates Return of Speakership to S/West

By Adeola Oladele, Ibadan

A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) in Oyo State,  Chief (Mrs) Olanrewaju Adedeji  Otiti has advocated  that the position of Speaker of the House of Representatives should be zoned to the South-West as originally planned by the party so as to give voice to the people of the region in running the affairs of the country in 2015.

Chief Mrs Otiti who is an aspirant seeking the party’s ticket to contest in the 2015 election to represent  Oyo South Senatorial district stated this in an interview with WESTERN POST in Ibadan recently.

She said, in the spirit of fairness, equity  and justice which the party stands for,  the South -West should be given the position  now that there is another opportunity to correct the anomally of Hon. Aminu Tambuwal’s emergence.

While expressing the hope of PDP  winning the 2015 election in Oyo State, she maintained that the current All Progressives Congress (APC) has destroyed the goodwill that brought it to power in 2011 and the people of the state are yearning for a positive change which PDP is best known for as a party that believes in the welfare of the downtrodden.

The senatorial aspirant expresses her conviction that effective legislature must combine legislative functions with well articulated empowerment programme that would assist his constituents to attain their socio and economic goals.

She, however, expressed optimism that PDP will overcome its current challenges in the state and go into 2015 election as a formidable platform that would reclaim the governorship position from the ruling APC.
