Nigeria international midfielder, Ogenyi Onazi scored a scrappy goal on Sunday but it wasn’t enough as SS Lazio lost 2-4 to SC Napoli as Serie A entered match day 33.

Onazi who was his usual snarling, battling self in midfield all afternoon showed a different side to his game with a goal which totally exemplified his personality on the pitch.

The effort which was struck at the second time of asking, arrived in the 82nd minute after a moment of enterprise from the 21-year-old.

He latched onto a pass on the far side and honed in on goal before he struck an effort which the Napoli goalkeeper, Pepe Reina unsuccessfully tried to keep out.

Onazi reacted in lightening fashion though to poke home with the Napoli defenders desperately trying to clear their lines in belated fashion.

Sunday’s goal was Onazi’s first in Serie A this season. He has made 27 league appearances for the club this season, reports supersport.com.

The midfielder also scored once in the UEFA Europa League this season when he netted against Trabzonspor on October 3, 2013.

Onazi has been capped 18 times for Nigeria and has scored once for the Super Eagles.
