The agent of Super Eagles midfielder, John Mikel Obi, John Shittu, has revealed that the Nigerian international could possibly turn-out for Inter Milan next season.
Mikel’s game time at Chelsea has been limited this season and he has made only 10 Premier League starts after falling behind Ramires, Nemanja Matic and Frank Lampard in Jose Mourinho’s pecking order.
However, Shittu, was not giving too much away, but did not rule out the possibility that Mikel could be playing in Serie A next season.
“Inter? What I can tell you is that I have with my client and the leaders there is interest in him,” Shittu said.
“He is a great player; he’s won the Champions League and the African Cup of Nations so he is up to the standard for the Nerazzurri. Inter is a hypothesis, for now Mikel is a Chelsea player,” Shittu said.
He noted that: “Inter are a possibility, but right now Mikel is a Chelsea player. I cannot tell you anything more on the negotiations. The fact remains that Mikel now has a contract with the Blues,” Shittu stated.
