The members, Amalgamated Commercial Motorcycle Riders and Owners of Nigeria (ACOMORAN) and Riders & Owners of Motorcycles Organization (ROMO) Ogun State Chapter have elected Comrade Razaq Sotayo popularly known as Solebo as the chairman of the Union in the state.
Sotayo alongside his executive members were sworn-in to manage the affairs of the union at Conference Hotel, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta.
The Union was created to end the crisis in the transport organizations across the state.
In his acceptance speech, Sotayo said, the Union was established to protect the interest and fight for the rights of motorcycle riders in the state.
He stressed that, the newly created transport union would take care of the general interest of the people.
Sotayo vowed that the union would adopt professionalism while carrying out her duties in the state.
The Chairman expressed appreciation to the State Governor for his intervention in the transport organizations in the state.
He said, “It is my pleasure to welcome all of you to this august event which marks the inauguration of the newly established Motorcycles Association, ROMO, Ogun State.
“I congratulate all the executives, I pray we shall work towards the development and progress of our Union. This Union is established to protect the interest and fight for the rights of motorcycle riders.
“This newborn baby will take care of the general interest of the people. We will adopt professionalism as our guide.
“I once again thank our Governor, His Excellency, Prince Dapo Abiodun. I also thank the transport committee members who were observers of our election”.
Meanwhile, members of the Three Wheelers Owners and Riders Association (TWORA), Ogun State also elected Azeez Adeyemi as the union chairman.
Adeyemi and his executive members were also sworn in on Friday at Conference Hotel, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta.
In his acceptance speech, Adeyemi vowed that, the transport association would support the State Government to achieve its dreams.
Personalities at the swearing-in ceremony include the Secretary of Ogun State All Progressives Congress (APC), Her Ayo Olubori, the State Organizing Secretary of APC, Hon. Yemi Adelani and other stakeholders of the transport union in the state.
