Somolu Residents Commend Lawmaker, Urge LASG To Address Environmental Challenges

Residents of Somolu Constituency 1 have commended the Lawmaker representing the area at the Lagos State House of Assembly, Hon. Rotimi Olowo, for his legislative performance, stating that the lawmaker had always been consistent in his empowerment programmes since his involvement in politics.

The residents made this known at the Constituency’s Stakeholders Meeting held in the secretariat of Somolu Local government,on Wednesday.

It will be recalled that stakeholders’ meeting was simultaneously held across all the 40 constituencies of the state.

The participants at the meeting said that there is need for the state government to quickly address the environmental challenges facing the state, adding that the state had experienced various kinds of pollution which are inimical to their health.

The Baale of Somolu, Chief Moruf Akinpelu, praised the lawmaker for his contributions to the development of the constituency, saying that the people never regret re-electing the lawmaker.

Akinpelu advised the lawmaker to continue his good deeds, saying that the people of the constituency would continue to support him to succeed.

Also, the Apex Leader of All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos East Senatorial District, Sen. Anthony Adefuye, eulogised the lawmaker for running an open door policy, stating that he had displayed uncommon attitude among political office holders.

Adefuye added that the lawmaker had shown that there are still people of good virtue in politics, stressing that he would remain a role model to young politicians who are aspiring to be a leader.

He added that the lawmaker preaches the virtues of progressive politics and that he also practices its inherent principles.

While commenting on the issues raised by the participants, Olowo stated that all their points are noted to be passed to the necessary quarters for quick treatment, assuring that he would push for its rapid attention.

Olowo, who said that environmental issues cannot be handled with kid gloves as they affect the society, stated further that it was the reason why the stakeholders meeting was held in the constituency and the state in general.

Part of those that attended the event are; executives of CDAs in the constituency, Executive Chairman of Somolu Local government, Mr Abdulhameed Salau, Somolu APC stalwarts and elders, CAN executives, Muslim Community, Market Men and Women , Youths and Artisans.
